    This Business Analyst (BA) Intern position is a part of the Corporate Solutions and Integration (CSI) team that supports Global Business Services (GBS) initiatives. Global Business Services is a relatively new part of the organization to enable consistency and scale in shared services functions in Thermo Fisher Scientific. Some of the areas in GBS are global sourcing, supply chain, pricing, process improvement, operations, risk management, real estate and security.

    Technology and digital are key enablers for this group. The BA acts as a partner to our business stakeholders who are solving internal shared service needs and problems. BA’s have a passion for making sure that software, applications, and processes are effectively integrated/adopted within the functions to achieve maximum productivity gains, while meeting the needs of the business and maintaining proper data integrity.

    This role will be a partner for particular GBS groups we support. Two in particular are 1. Shared Service Center Operations, and 2. Real Estate and Security. Currently, they are covered by others, but we are not able to sustain this in the long term and we will need to bring someone in to focus in these areas.

    The engagement partner portion of this role will be the liaison between these groups and the IT partners supporting the needs of these groups.

    For the Shares Service Center Operations team, we are working across the three SSCs (Costa Rica, Budapest, and Paisley) on a common IT employee experience. This role will maintain the current technology roadmaps for these teams, identify and assist with GBS needs, and drive the collaboration of the IT leaders in these locations for a consistent and an excellent customer experience.

    For the Real Estate and Security teams, there is currently a roadmap to implement a Facilities CoE. This role will support the IT work required to make the Facilities CoE a reality ,working closely with the Real Estate and Procurement team members and the ServiceNow team. There are also smaller initiatives on the roadmap that this role will support.

    This role will also be a technical SME to assist with analytics and reporting, providing PowerBI support to our project and support teams as well as our GBS partners. Each of our Business Analysts are also a SME for a technical aspect of the work.

    THE POSITION STARTS IN JUNE, PAID WORKING 40 HOURS PER WEEK THROUGH AUGUST.

    Opportunity exists for this position to continue through the academic year on a part-time basis to allow for class schedules.
