Job Description
Cellecta, a small, privately-owned Mountain View, CA based biotechnology company is looking for a product manager to coordinate the development and launch of new products and services in support of our established portfolio.
The successful candidate for this position will need to have both a life science background and some first-hand experience working in a commercial life science research laboratory. This is a hands-on role in a small organization, so success in this position will require strong initiative, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong teamwork, and interpersonal skills. This opportunity may be a good fit for a research associate who meets the key requirements below to move into a non-laboratory commercial role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with our R&D team to define product development and launch plans for new technologies and product extensions.
- Coordinate development of product-related technical content including protocols and product certificates.
- Help develop content for promotional materials, website content, and related collateral to expand the sales for existing products and services.
- Be able to effectively communicate and give clear presentations with both internal and external scientists.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in a life science discipline and hands-on experience in a laboratory are required.
- An understanding of methods and technology used by life science scientists is required, and experience with NGS, CRISPR, lentiviral vectors, pooled library construction, RNA-Seq, PCR, and cell biology is preferred.
- Commercial experience in a company providing kits and reagents to life science researchers is preferred.
- An ability to coordinate and advance projects involving multiple stakeholders (e.g., project management).
- Previous experience in customer support or customer-facing roles especially in technical support or sales in a life science company is desirable.
- Experience in technical writing would be a plus.
- High facility with generally accessible software (e.g., Excel, Access, Google Docs, Outlook, etc.).
- Be free to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
Salary commensurate with experience. Profit sharing plan is available for all employees.
