Chemical Application Specialist
We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products to oil and gas. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Chemical Application Specialist in Deer Park, TX.
The Application Specialist is the person who provides technical assurance of methods and instrumentation in the labs and is a critical barrier in data integrity. The Application Specialist monitors the day-to-day operability of the instrumentation/equipment and data needs of the lab.
While the Application Specialist does not run daily samples, they will be skilled in the test methods to support routine sample schedules, special samples, or during upset conditions. The Application Specialists are responsible for conducting calibrations and validations to remain in compliance.
Responsibilities:
Chemical Lab Application Specialist: Olefins, Phenol
HSSE
Demonstrates and supports Goal Zero behaviors every day
Promotes process safety fundamentals
Data Integrity & Reliability
Routine SQC monitoring for assurance
Next level escalation after tester for troubleshooting
Data collection for instrument validation
Perform calibration and base runs on instruments
Place methods into service, including developing training package/procedures and assist Supervisor in training Testers
Provides support for experimental testing
Instrument troubleshooting, with repair plans dependent on Production criticality
Prepares lab standards as needed for calibrations and validations
Provides theory training with assistance to Testers for technology and new instrumentation
and methods
Setting up proper process warning mechanism through exception reports in LIMS and keeping it evergreen
Day job, however, 24 hr. on call support
Requirements:
3-5 years of hands-on experience with troubleshooting, fixing and repair of analytical instrumentation (GC, FP, HPLC, IC, titrators, etc.)
TWIC Card is required
Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property
Education: B.S. degree in Chemistry
Location: Deer Park, TX 77536
Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $34.00 – 35.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; Days/ 24hr on call
