The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a critical position who serves as the New York Genome Center’s financial leader, responsible for the organization’s overall fiscal position, strategic financial planning, and financial operations management. In addition, the CFO leads several functional units, including finance and accounting, research administration, and facilities. Reporting directly to the Scientific Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO is a crucial member of the Center’s senior leadership team and will play a key role in shaping the Center’s efforts to achieve scientific excellence and impact.
Key Responsibilities
The New York Genome Center’s next CFO will be a seasoned executive with substantial leadership experience, ideally in academic, research, or grant-making organizations. As a financial professional, the CFO will be an effective, strategic, self-motivated, and confident leader with exceptional analytic skills and the ability to develop and implement clear goals, systems, and priorities. Further, the CFO will demonstrate strong communication skills and high EQ and be attracted to the opportunity to join an organization with an exciting, forward-looking vision and to forge strong, supportive relationships across the breadth of the Center.

SALARY RANGE
The pay range for this position is anticipated to be $430,000 per year, with a range of $340,000 to $500,000; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

*Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
*Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis

*Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks
*Must wear work boots, Bland landscaping uniform and present yourself in a clean and polite manner
*Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
*Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required
*Must have valid NC Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred)
*Must be willing to obtain NC Pesticide applicators license
*Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
*Must comply with Bland’s policies and procedures
