Come join us and #BeCode42 WHAT YOULL BE DOING: Code42 is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our team for the summer of 2019. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be working alongside our team members of Research, Development and Operations. In this role, youll be evaluating, prototyping and implementing technologies, tools, and projects. You will be exposed to many aspects of the software development process and your work may include research, development, user-interface testing, quality assurance testing or related duties/tasks as assigned. YOULL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: * Working closely with engineers on the enhancement and development of Code42 products * Actively contributing ideas for product improvements and solutions to technology challenges * Taking abstract ideas and innovating on them adding creativity and value * Showing a passion for continued learning, staying abreast of new technology and trends * Delivering clean code supporting consistent user experience and product quality * Being a valued part of a best practices Agile Scrum development organization * Learning about product development at an industry leading software company * Working with open source libraries used in the web application SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: * Recently acquired or working towards a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a field related to the subject area with at least 2 years of coursework completed. * While being mentored, this individual should have the ability to work relatively autonomously, be self-driven and excited about the quest for knowledge. * Must have development skills in any of the following: Java, iOS / OSX, C++, C#, Python, Ruby, Groovy, Android, Web Development * Excellent communication and writing skills * Self-confidence, willingness to ask questions and take initiative PREFERRED: * Bonus points for telling us what excites you about wanting to work at Code42. * Related work that you can share with us - GitHub repository, large development projects, etc STANDARD COMPETENCIES: * Cultivates Innovation * Collaborates * Values Differences * Instills Trust * Customer Focus
