    Job Description

    Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Research Agreement Counsel in its Office of Sponsored Programs ("OSP"). Position Responsibilities * Serve as lead within CSHL's Office of Sponsored Programs for the coordinated review, negotiation and execution of incoming and outgoing subawards, contracts, and Other Transactional Agreements (OTAs). * Coordinate with CSHL's Legal, Finance, Intellectual Property and Research Compliance Departments and staff to address and resolve issues related to research agreement terms and conditions, insurance, financial conflicts of interest, indemnifications etc. * Review and update subaward documentation to ensure compliance with institutional, Federal and other third-party funding requirements. * Ensure that appropriate risk assessments are designed, executed and re-evaluated as needed. * Manage and proactively coordinate research progress reports that include subawards. * Assist OSP Senior Managers in the preparation and submission of associated subaward documentation and requests that may include: Prior approvals such as carryover, no-cost extensions, transfers, issuance of non-domestic sub-awards etc. * Interface with collaborating institutions to initiate and complete subaward preparation and related documentation. * Oversee the proper management of subaward records, FFATA reporting, and maintain a database and schedule for monitoring the workflow of subaward status. * Support CSHL scientists with subaward budget preparation. * Assist in reviewing all continuing awards and provide instructions for their set up in the CSHL accounting system. * Participate in other post award responsibilities as needed. Position Requirements Education: * JD degree required; must be licensed to practice in New York Experience: * 1-2 years of contract experience required.
