    JOB PROFILE: 

    This position reports to the COO (Head of the Direct to Consumer at EILEEN FISHER) and oversees and leads the EILEEN FISHER Full Price Retail Stores, Company Stores and Digital Planning process. Develop annual, seasonal, monthly and weekly fiscal plans that tie to the company budget. Create product plans for optimal assortments reflecting the purest expression of the brand in partnership with the Buying team. Provide strategic guidance of the in-season business management to maximize sales and margin achievement; identify opportunities to drive business. The Director of Planning and Allocation will provide leadership and guidance to the planning team: the Full Price Retail Planner, Allocator and Digital Planner in creating effective partnerships with Buyers to develop strategies and drive business.

    The Director of Planning and Allocation will guide and mentor a team of 3, and be based in the NY metro area.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

     FINANCIAL PLANNING:

    • Create annual fiscal plans for Full Price Retail, Company Stores and Digital – annual, seasonal, monthly and weekly level and location level planning
    • Oversee the fiscal planning and monthly re-forecasting process with the Head of DTC and financial partners
    • Present Monthly Business Review highlights for DTC (Full Price Stores, Company stores and Digital channel) – identifying risks and opportunities
    • Manage OTB, profitability and monitor inventory levels
    • Partner to develop margin, seasonal launch and markdown plans

       ASSORTMENT PLANNING:

    • Prepare and coordinate with DTC hindsight analysis to inform the upcoming season strategy (Stores and Digital performance, store management feedback, emerging trends, opportunities)
    • Oversee product plans (category, lifestyle, class plans) that tie to the financial targets
    • Align with Merchant team on creating specific assortment plans that support EF’s brand vision and achieves account financial goals – provide analysis and recommendation for cluster/store profiling plans
    • Work closely with Merchandising Planner on CAP Creation ensuring DTC needs are met.

       IN-SEASON ANALYSIS:

    • Manage OTB’s, actualizing and re-forecasting with recommendations to mitigate risk and maximize opportunities
    • Oversee the Monthly Business Review (MBR) and report action plans to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities
    • Plan and monitor stock levels of key items and System replenishment program to optimize sales and sell thru performance
    • Oversee allocation plan to fill in and reorder based on product performance at store location level and digital warehouse
    • Provide guidance on markdown budget and optimal spend to liquidate inventory
    • Lead standardizing reporting and analysis for Direct to Consumer channel to include OTB, sales/stock location, product performance and market share

    PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS AS REQUIRED

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • 5+ years in Retail Planning, both Full Price Stores and Digital, minimum 2 years in a leadership role; Apparel experience a plus
    • Systems and Tools Acumen:
      • Advanced Excel user
    • Financial and Business Acumen:
      • Strong command of retail math concepts, OTB management skills
      • Adept at aggregating data and interpreting into actionable and informative analysis at executive level
    • Management attributes:
      • Fosters highly collaborative relationships with business partners
      • Influencer, can present ideas to business partners and leadership team
      • Strategic innovative thinker with the ability to balance with tactical application and efficiencies

  • Qualifications
    • Master's degree in the discipline of instruction OR Master's in any field AND 15 hours in the discipline OR Sufficient experience in lieu of either requirement, as approved by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

    • Teaching experience is preferred.

    • This person should possess enthusiasm and passion for student learning and be able to respond to the needs of students using a variety of teaching methods including new technologies.
