    The Manager, Direct Mail and Telemarketing ensures that all offline acquisition, retention, reinstatement, and upgrade strategies are executed efficiently, accurately, with a focus on the donor experience throughout. The Manager works with the Associate Director, Direct Response to identify and execute donor-centric stewardship opportunities in offline channels.

     

    • Works with Associate Director, Direct Response to develop and execute annual fundraising plans for acquiring, reinstating, retaining, and cultivating donors through offline direct response channels, including direct mail and telemarketing.
    • Manages all aspects of direct mail campaigns including the creative process (from copywriting and design) to internal review and production.
    • Manages all aspects of telemarketing campaigns from script development to performance monitoring.
    • Serve as day-to-day liaison to program consultants and implement strategy in line with program goals.
    • Manage production of offline planned giving marketing projects and other development projects as needed.
    • Review campaign results to ensure the program is on pace to hit targets.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
    • At least 4 years’ experience in direct response fundraising and/or development preferred.
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite required, and experience with fundraising CRMs required with Luminate and Raiser’s Edge/RE NXT experience preferred.
    • Must be proactive and a self-starter with excellent problem-solving and implementation skills.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills: ability to maintain strong professional relationships with a range of groups in person and by writing and phone, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
    • Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
    • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, and strong presentation skills.
    • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities while coordinating work flow in a deadline-driven and service-focused environment.
    • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
    • Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
