    SUMMARY OF CO-OP

    The Corporate Communications & Marketing Co-op is an integral part of implementing the Immersive Technology department’s marketing and communications strategy. You will help broadcast the success stories, use cases, and exciting features of immersive technology across the organization. You will assist with creating and building high-traffic web pages on our intracompany platforms. You will interact with colleagues and leaders in all functions across our business units to gather information, data, and narratives about experiences with immersive technology. THE POSITION STARTS IN JULY, PAID WORKING 40 HOURS PER WEEK THROUGH DECEMBER.  We are looking for talented individuals who are creative and ready to tackle communication initiatives engaged by all levels within the organization.

    WHAT ARE THE EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL BE WORKING ON?

    • Design, create, and assist in managing the department’s Sharepoint webpage(s).
    • Design and present new internal-facing social media campaign ideas and monitor platform(s) for trends, feedback, and reach.
    • Assist with planning various virtual and in-person events and conferences.
    • Research current immersive technology trends and draft shareable content relevant to Thermo Fisher Scientific business units and colleagues.
    • Develop storyboards and write dialogues for videos and internal-facing commercials. Edit video clips and produce final cuts, presenting final drafts to the department leadership team.
    • Create voice of the customer (VOC) feedback mechanisms, monitor intake, and report out on statistics and trends.
  • Qualifications
    • Full-time student, communications, or marketing major
  • Desired skills
    • Interest in immersive technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality
    • Excellent Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Stream, OneNote, Forms, Outlook, & Yammer, etc.)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Passion for marketing and communications
    • Solid understanding of marketing techniques
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
    • Ability to work with tight timeframes
    • Solid research skills, including sourcing content for stories, articles, and videos
    • Willingness to learn, be mentored and improve
    • Desire to contribute and improve the design of new and existing communications and marketing initiatives
