Job Description

The Data Protection Engineering Internship position provides an opportunity to students who are currently pursuing a computer or information science degree to get hands on experience working with engineers in a fast-paced IT environment. This position will allow an individual to gain experience with and learn how to manage enterprise data protection and storage services.

Essential Functions:

• Day-to-day support of the Thermo Fisher Scientific data protection and storage environment, including various backup and replication tools, cloud-based (AWS/Azure) services, storage arrays, network attached storage, and data center technologies.
• Help with developing scripting and automations using various tools and languages (python, shell, Ansible, etc.)
• Collaborating with the various team's engineers on large scale, business imperative projects and initiatives to optimize the storage and data protection environment.
• Managing and monitoring the work queue to address customer requests within the established service level agreements.

• Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an ABET accredited degree in computer or information science, or like engineering field
