    Summary of Internship

    The Demand Planning Internship position provides an opportunity for business, supply chain, and engineering students to get hands on experience supporting the planning function of a fast-paced biotechnology manufacturing operation. The Demand Planning Intern will be exposed to a variety of cross-functional teams (Commercial, Product Management, Procurement, Logistics, etc) and will gain valuable insight to how these organizational relationships drive a positive customer experience. The intern will be responsible for supporting the current Biosciences Division (BID) demand planning process as well developing and managing their own planning projects to improve overall forecast accuracy.

    Essential Functions

    • Support the current demand planning process for the BID analytical instrument portfolio
    • Provide analysis of real-time global consumption
    • Learn about the dynamics of balancing availability and inventory costs for high-value instrument products
    • Develop and manage a forecasting model for select BID instrument products
    • Coordinate with DRP functions to ensure regional availability
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
    • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve
    • Curiosity and desire to understand industrial operations
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Exposure to manufacturing or manufacturing systems preferred

    Education Level:

    • A student currently enrolled in a bachelor program studying business management, supply chain, management science, industrial engineering, or another engineering discipline
