    SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP

    The Demand Planning Internship position provides an opportunity for students who are currently pursuing a Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business or any other relevant analytical degree to get hands on experience working with Supply Chain professionals in a fast-paced Supply Chain environment. The Demand Planner intern will contribute to process improvements projects around demand planning processes and development of standard work.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Develop unconstrained demand forecast models based on demand patterns, historical data, commercial intelligence and industry trends for the relevant portfolio on a monthly basis
    • Align the unconstrained demand forecast (Item-Level & Aggregate) with the Business Unit, Commercial and Product Management teams
    • Conduct monthly demand review meetings with key stakeholders to gain concurrence on demand plan, review forecast assumptions and root cause for over/underperformance
    • Communicate constraints and allocations to the BU, customer and sales teams
    • Manage the manual allocation process for day-to-day execution for constrained products
    • Plan ramp up and ramp down scenarios for new product introductions and product discontinuations
    • Measure and analyze forecast accuracy metrics to drive improvements
    • Process ad-hoc request for data analysis as requested to support management decisions
    • Lead / Participate in process improvement projects as required
    • Provide input and recommendations in improving supply chain strategies, policies and practices to achieve Best-in-Class Supply Chain Management
  • Qualifications
    • Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Degree
    • Previous Internship / Work Experience

  • Desired skills
    • Strong analytical skills. Able to analyze and manipulate large sets of raw data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex forecast approaches into terms clearly understood by various client groups including Senior Management
    • Knowledge of S&OP principles and practices
    • Strong in building relationships across various functional teams
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks under heavy pressure and tight deadlines
    • Ability to work well in a global organization
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; advanced MS Excel skills required. Knowledge of Stratum®, SAP, Power BI, Macola is a plus
    • Ability to work independently, typically initiating own tasks with input/guidance from Manager and/or Director
    • Able to deal with ambiguity
    • Six Sigma / APICS Certification is a plus
