Summer Internship
Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer Intern supports the Engineering Manager in achieving daily process engineering targets prioritized by Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. He/she will be responsible for ensuring all production equipment is operating efficiently and generating optimal product yield. Following the priorities set by the Manager and Supervisor ensures that work stations are set-up and staffed for efficient production, including resolving issues with quality & customer complaints.
Responsibilities:
Provide front line leadership, coaching and mentoring to production staff to deliver manufacturing objectives. Prioritize workload and optimize usage of assets to maximize product delivery. Primary back up when manager or shift supervisor is not present.
Technical support for the chemical distillation and solvent blending processes.
Ensures production of high quality products in a safe manner. Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and deliver quality product to our customers.
Analyze and resolve technical and operational problems. Work with value stream to support troubleshooting of chemical production issues.
Suggest and implement changes in manufacturing environment, facilities, and equipment to increase efficiency of operations.
Review and evaluate all documentation used in production for proper methods and process controls
Support and participate in the company efforts in Practical Process Improvement (PPI), LEAN, standard work and 5S
Qualifications:
Working towards BS in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Basic knowledge of chemical distillation process and chemical processing
Ability to solve practical problems and make recommendations based on identified datasets
PC literate with a working knowledge of Databases, Access, Work, Outlook, and Excel.
Ability to effectively communicate with different levels of the organization.
Analytical ability to detect and solve problems.
Must be capable of multitasking in a rapid paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills are essential
GMP and GDP experience a plus
