    Summary of Internship

    The engineering technical writer is responsible for generating, modifying and releasing into the QMS(quality management system), 70-80 manufacturing documents that encompass all facets of producing a new Raman Spectrometer Handheld Analyzer. The writer will be observing the assembly and test processes in real time, documenting process steps and taking pictures, generating documents in established templates, making modifications and edits as processes change and mature, and finally releasing the final documentation to production under ECO (engineering change order) control. The position starts in July, paid working 40 hours per week through December.

    Essential Functions

    The individual must be detailed oriented, have good organizational skills, and must be self-starting. The individual will work cross functionally with manufacturing engineering, quality and R&D and will take direction from the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Ideally, the individual will be pursuing a degree in a science or engineering discipline.

    Qualifications

    • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an accredited degree in engineering, math, or physics discipline
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
