    We are seeking an Account Manager to join our dynamic team! This position works throughout the Northeast Area as part of our Sales team based out of the Boston area. This role will focus on providing our customers with exactly what they need, by supplying animal models, diets, bedding and services, to managing complex programs and the development of long-term strategic partnerships. The person in this role will need to be an excellent communicator, proactive problem-solver and a strong leader. We are seeking someone that is organized in thought and action, analytical, shows attention to detail, takes initiative, has a customer focus and positive attitude.

    ON A TYPICAL DAY, THE ACCOUNT MANAGER WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE ENVIGO TEAM BY:

    • Meet with current and prospective customers to identify their needs and provide solutions utilizing Envigo products and services
    • Maintain CRM (Salesforce.com) - database with updated customer information as well as updated sales funnel management of business opportunities including monthly forecasting and analysis as required.
    • Provide consultative solutions that create a collaborative relationship to address the unique needs of our customers
    • Develop and execute strategic account plans, manage in field activities to qualify leads and close business to deliver territory growth.
    • Maintain an effective territory 30-60-90-Day rolling Business Plan, to maximize effectiveness and travel efficiency.
    • Acquire competitive intelligence with respect to current pricing, new products, problems and market changes.
    • Demonstrate effective use of product knowledge and use of technical and marketing material.
    • Maintain a strong technical knowledge of products and services.
    • Provide customer feedback regarding products, product problems, product changes or opportunities, and new product design.
    • Investigate and resolve customer problems.
    • Work effectively with cross functional departments.
    • Develop business opportunities and leads during scientific meetings.

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT THE ACCOUNT MANAGER BRINGS:

    • Associate’s Degree or other means of obtaining equivalent knowledge indicated
    • A successful history of at  least three years sales experience in the life sciences marketplace working with large academic and government accounts or CRO
    • Lab / bench level pre-clinical or academic research experience in lieu of sales experience
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are required
    • Must be willing and able to travel domestically 60% of time
    • Ability to build strong relationships with external and internal customers
    • Strong consultative selling skills and proven capability to close sales
    • Be detail-oriented and Customer-Centric
    • Possess excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

    IT WOULD BE A BONUS IF A CANDIDATE ALSO HAS:

    • Experience with a CRM tool or Salesforce
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Life or Animal Science
    • Life Science Industry experience
