    Job Description

    The Environmental Technician III is a key position in supervising that the details of everyday production are executed through effective communications within the team and outside teams, departments, etc.

    Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    · Supervise segregation and packaging material for process along with the completion of required paperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures

    · Separate and pack hazardous material for transport

    · Complete required paperwork in accordance with our practices and procedures

    · Collecting samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis

    · Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School diploma AND a minimum 4 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
    • A valid driver's license. We will conduct a motor vehicle records check for the successful candidate.
    • Successful candidate will have to pass a drug assessment and background check.
    • US Citizen/US Permanent Resident. We cannot sponsor for this role at this time or in the future.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Candidate will be required to complete the following (when appropriate): 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training or annual refresher class, 30-hour OSHA Supervisor training, First Aid/CPR training, and AECOM specific training
    • Candidate will be required to obtain the Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) and the Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
    • Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs; MS Word and MS Excel.
    • Position is permanently based at the AECOM Borger Field Office and requires residence within a 60-mile commuting radius of the Borger, TX facility.
    • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training or annual refresher class.
    • 30-hour OSHA Supervisor training.
    • First Aid/CPR training.
    • Experience managing and tracking hazardous and non-hazardous waste for offsite transport and disposal.
    • Experience working at an active refinery site.
    • Knowledge of environmental sampling methods and experience using field equipment (e.g., GPS, PID, 4-gas meter, digit data collection, etc.).
    • Experience performing independent field work and providing oversight of contractor field activities.
    • Possess strong work ethic and problem-solving skills with the ability to function independently while conducting field work.
    • Candidate must exhibit a mature sense of professional responsibility and awareness of accepted standards of professional behavior.
    • Candidate should have proficient technical writing skills and ability to effectively express his or herself orally in project reviews conducted among internal staff.
