The BAS-ADT department is seeking a highly motivated creative Scientist to develop bioanalytical methods and strategies to support biopharmaceuticals in the Genentech Cancer Immunotherapy pipeline. Responsibilities for this position include development and implementation of assaystrategies, managing timelines and resources to meet project goals. Working with ScientificResearchers, this individualwill be responsible for development, characterization, and qualification ofin vitromethods to quantify biotherapeutic levels in various species and biological matrices, to detect and characterize immune responses evoked by the biotherapeutic, to measure biomarkers,andto conduct biological characterization in support of regulatory filings, and to work with contractresearchorganizations to transfer and validate assays. This may involveinmanual laboratory work, the use of automation systems andvarious assay platforms, includingELISA, Quanterix, Ella, Gyros, Singulex and Luminex. Responsibilities may also include supervision of one or moreScientific Researchers. The individual will work independently and incollaboration with colleagues within BAS and across various functional areas, toestablishmethods in support of both in vitro and in vivo nonclinical and clinical studies. He/she will provide analytical support to programs from early development through clinical studies and regulatory filings. The successful candidate is also expected to conduct and publish novel research related to the job responsibilities. A Ph.D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline with at least two years of relevant postgraduate experience is required. Experience in an industrial setting is preferred, and knowledge of oncology and cancer immunotherapy is helpful. The individual should an have in-depth understanding and hands-on experience in developingquantitative analyte and anti-drugantibody assays for protein therapeutics in particular utilizing immunoassay methodologies, along with a proven track record of publications solving complex bioanalytical problems. The work will require the application of immunoassays as well as state-of-the-art assay technologies such asQuanterix, Ella, Singulex, Gyros and Luminex and other biochemical approaches. Expertise withstandard text, graphic, and presentation softwareis required, and familiarity with database/data archival software systems is helpful.
