    Intern - Product Development - Quality Data Analyst South San Francisco California, United States of America Job ID:201810-122886 -The Position Target Start Date: Fall 2018 Length of Internship: 6 months, potential extension to 1 year Minimum hours: 20 hours/per week, can also be full-time 40 hours/week Quality Data Analyst, PDQ Auditing, is responsible for supporting the Data Analytics function in providing and analyzing clinical and non-clinical data. This role works closely with other Quality Data roles, as well as across auditing and strategy teams to ensure that data are used in a way that is fit for purpose and support strategic decisions. Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Support of Pipeline & Process Quality Strategies Ensures availability of quality data and information through: - Understanding of how data is collected - Collection, preparation, cleaning and manipulation of large data-sets -Supports analytics and reporting strategy to strengthen or challenge PDQ data and build a well-rounded picture of our state of compliance -Analyses large amounts of data through queries, algorithms and puts them into context, in order to provide the best fit for Quality Strategy -Facilitates data driven actionable insights for PDQ stakeholders that contribute to Quality Strategy -Contribute to the development and execution of PDQ goals and initiatives -Participate in or lead departmental or cross-functional compliance projects and initiatives as assigned -Perform other tasks as assigned by line management Education/Qualifications: -Pursuing or recent graduate from (BSc.) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other relevant experience; Minimum: -Excel expertise with advanced formulas and visualization required -Experience running exploratory data analysis with R Desired: -Experience with experiment, advanced exploratory data analysis and other areas of data science; -Experience working with relational database management systems, as well as large and heterogeneous data sets from different sources -Knowledge of Python is a plus Experience, Skills, Knowledge: -Ability to explain technical solutions to others -Ability to work effectively in an international multicultural matrix organization. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Fluency in written and spoken English -Motivation to learn, innovate and constantly think about new ways of doing things. -Independent judgment and decision-making ability -Passion for analytics -Who We Are A member of the Roche Group, Genentech has been at the forefront of the biotechnology industry for more than 40 years, using human genetic information to develop novel medicines for serious and life-threatening diseases.
