    SUMMARY

    Sunshine Metals, Inc. (SMI) is seeking an experienced Quality Manager who will ensure our products are consistently delivered up to set standards. In this position, you will improve upon production processes to increase efficiency in our plant. You must be organized, customer service-oriented and have a strong background in quality assessment and assurance. This position also requires the ability to interface with senior members of high-profile OEM’s and Tier 1 suppliers such as Spirit, Boeing, and Airbus.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Ensure all products consistently meet and pass set quality standards
    • Analyze current quality assessment techniques for inconsistencies and redundancy
    • Create and implement changes to improve current processes and reduce costs
    • Train production line staff in proper quality practices and basic quality assessment
    • Follow products through entirety of process to ensure each step is completed correctly
    • Perform detailed inspections of final products and confirm they are up to standard
    • Utilize a CMM to inspect machined components and assemblies
    • Generate FAI reports for machined components and assemblies to provide to customers
    • Identify products not up to standard and seek the root cause of the problem
    • Manage and supervise workers in quality assessment tasks
    • Perform frequent inspections and audits of work processes (including safety)
    • Monitor production, monitor quality processes, and troubleshoot any errors
    • Research and gather client/customer feedback for ways to improve products
    • Examine raw materials to confirm correct specifications and established standards in conjunction with receiving personnel
    • Collaborate with management and line production staff to achieve most efficient and accurate quality assessments
    • Track, record, and maintain quality assurance data
    • Present progress reports to upper management
    • Follow and adhere to all state, federal and company enforced safety rules and regulations
    • Make safety a priority at all times for you and the production staff

     

    Required Skills

    REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and or Six Sigma (Minimum Green Belt Six Sigma Certified, Black Belt Preferred)
    • Experience operating Romer, Faro, or other types of CMM’s for machined parts
    • Ability to generate FAI reports for machined parts and assemblies
    • Certified Quality Inspector preferred
    • Understanding of ISO 9000, AS 9100, AS9120, AS9101, etc. implementation
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
    • Excellent communicator both verbally and written
    • Highly detail-oriented

    Required Experience

    • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing and quality assurance
  • Qualifications
