    The Massachusetts Medical Society is the statewide professional association for physicians and medical students. We are dedicated to educating and advocating for the patients and physicians of Massachusetts. We offer online CME courses and live events that award continuing medical education credits. The Society, under the auspices of NEJM Group, publishes the New England Journal of Medicine, a leading global medical journal and web site, and NEJM Journal Watch alerts and publications covering 12 specialties.

     

    We are currently seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to work in our Waltham, MA office.

     

    The Digital Marketing Manager will help to define and execute our Audience Development strategies. This role will work in conjunction with the product, sales, corporate marketing, and operations teams to understand objectives, manage priorities, and execute programs that support online audience development. The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for growing and engaging an online audience. Specifically, driving traffic and ad impressions to our digital properties and encouraging site registration and email alert opt-ins. This role will be up to date on best practices, driving measurable results from world-class digital marketing strategies, tactics and programs. She or he will have responsibility for programs that are designed to drive customer acquisition and retention and increase customer engagement. Demonstrated experience in analysing data around site traffic, user trends and engagement and optimizing spend and performance based on the insights.

     

    Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborate with product and brand stakeholders to develop and execute data-driven audience growth plans
    2. Project manage all audience development initiatives and the associated components, from concept to successful execution
    3. Measure and report on the performance of audience development initiatives and optimize them according to business goals (ROI and KPIs)
    4. Identify new growth opportunities and best practices based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence and consumer insight
    5. Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
    6. Partner with digital marketing operations manager and media agency to optimize and test creative assets, landing pages, and ad copy.
    7. Work closely with digital leadership to determine and meet KPIs
    8. Work cross-functionally with product, brand, sales and marketing groups to identify opportunities, execute initiatives and maximize customer monetization

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing role with a brand, agency, or publishing organization

    • Hands-on experience managing digital audience acquisition programs

    • Expertise with one or more of the following digital tactics: Email, SEM, Display Advertising, Paid Social, Onsite Conversion Optimization, SEO

    • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage and convert

    • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking. Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics)

    • Marketing automation technology experience

    • Excellent organizational and project management skills, strong attention to detail and can skillfully manage several complex projects with multiple moving parts.

    • Experience managing agency relationships and coordinating work with outside vendors.

    • Entrepreneurial, digitally savvy, and experimental in the approach to problem solving, with exceptional critical thinking skills
