  • Responsibilities

    WR Systems has a potential need for an engineering technician who has knowledge and experience with various navigation systems onboard Navy ships.

     

     

    Position responsibilities to include, but are not limited to the following: • Provide support to the fleet for installations, testing, equipment assessments, acceptance testing and configuration of Navigation systems. • Provide scheduling and installation support as necessary to effect modification, change or implementation of required engineering changes to systems and equipment. • Provide On-Site technical support for system and equipment problem resolution in support of new development programs and current platforms (US and Foreign Naval) • Conducting shipboard condition assessments when requested. • Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to resolve problems and failures for navigation systems. • Providing technical and training support for navigation system shipboard installations. • Provide detailed ship checks for reported problems and provide recommendations and assessments for problem resolution. • Provide assistance with the management/improvement/update/revision of Alteration/Shipboard Work Processes and Policies in support of APT and other metrics/tracking tools. • Provide support for analysis and examination of reports and data.

     

     

     

    Candidates must possess the following experience and skills: • High school graduate or GED equivalent, and/or graduate of military schools which provided an in-depth knowledge of naval shipboard systems maintenance and operation OR five (5) years of experience managing equipment maintenance (may be substituted for military school). • Must have working knowledge of navigational shipboard systems for maintenance and operation • Must have ten (10) years of experience providing technical support for U.S. Navy Navigation systems and equipment, including providing direct fleet support, installations, testing, troubleshooting, conducting equipment assessments, and acceptance testing and configuration of GFM for installations and upgrades. • Must possess good communications skills, ability to perform multiple tasks, self-management skills, decision making skills, travel and work independently and be teamwork orientated. • Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel • Fiber Optic Certification is a plus • Security + and Network + is a plus • Current US Passport. • Travel up to 60% of the time is required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or GED. Call center and/or Clinical experience preferred.

    Language Ability:

    Knowledge of medical terminology/human anatomy (willingness to complete medical terminology courses), information services/data processing desirable. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.  Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm in order to relate to ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and occasionally hostile people.

    Communication Ability:        

    Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm in order to relate and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and occasionally hostile people within the facility.

     Math Ability:

    Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Discretion and confidentiality with patient data.  Ability to perform duties with accuracy and attention to detail.  Ability to work under stress and in crisis situation.

    Computer Skills:

    Microsoft Office Products, processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, designated laboratory and customer service software.
