Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a growing dermatopathology laboratory near Buffalo, NY, to recruit an additional Full-Time Histotechnician. This 2-year-old lab is experiencing increased specimen volume—averaging around 60 samples per day—and is seeking a third Histotech to support workload balance and maintain high-quality turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties

• Same-day specimen receiving and grossing (skin specimens)

• Process, embed, cut, and stain tissue samples following standard protocols

• Maintain quality control standards in all phases of histology work

Secondary Duties

• General laboratory maintenance and equipment upkeep

• Assist team members as needed to ensure smooth workflo

Schedule

• Full-time | Monday–Friday | 11 AM–7 PM

• Fridays are typically lighter and may allow for early departure, though volume varies

• No on-call, weekends, or holidays required

Required Qualifications

• NYS Clinical Laboratory License (HT or HTL) — Required

• ASCP HT or HTL certification — Accepted

• Skin grossing experience — Strongly preferred

• Understanding of skin embedding practices; training available for strong candidates

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $30–$35/hr
