    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated Histology professional to join our expanding team in Milwaukee, WI. This opening is available at multiple levels—Histology Technician I, Histology Technician II, and Histotechnologist—depending on experience, education, and certification. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine and complex histologic procedures that support high-quality patient diagnostics within a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.

    Available Levels & Compensation:

    Histology Technician I: Entry-level / uncertified Histology Technician

    • Certification required within 1 year of hire

    • Pay Range: $22.17 – $33.26 per hour

    Histology Technician II: Certified Histology Technician with fully mastered HT I competencies

    • Must be HT(ASCP) or equivalent

    • Pay Range: $23.06 – $34.59 per hour

    Histotechnologist: Advanced role requiring higher-level certification and education

    • Bachelor’s degree required

    • HTL(ASCP) certification required

    • Pay Range: $24.94 – $37.41 per hour

    Key Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities vary slightly by level but may include:

    • Perform routine histological procedures including embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping.

    • Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination following established protocols.

    • Assist with special stains and immunohistochemistry (depending on competency level).

    • Maintain and troubleshoot histology equipment and instruments.

    • Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and specimen tracking for quality and compliance.

    • Adhere to all laboratory safety standards (CAP, CLIA, OSHA).

    • Participate in quality control and quality assurance processes.

    • Support workflow efficiency by maintaining supply inventory and assisting team members.

    • Additional advanced responsibilities for HT II and HTL roles may include complex testing, procedure validation, and mentoring junior staff.

    Qualifications:

    Histology Technician I

    • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)

    • Histology training or lab experience preferred

    • Ability to obtain HT certification within one year of hire

    Histology Technician II

    • HT(ASCP) certification required

    • Demonstrated mastery of all HT I competencies

    • Prior experience in a clinical histology laboratory preferred

    Histotechnologist

    • Bachelor’s degree in a biological science or related field

    • HTL(ASCP) certification required

    • Prior advanced histology experience strongly preferred

    Shift:

    • Monday - Friday
    • 2:00 am – 10:30 am
