    Summary of Internship

    The Automation Engineer Internship position provides an opportunity to students who are currently pursuing a computer or information science degree to get hands on experience working with engineers in a fast-paced IT environment. The intern will contribute to automation and DevOps projects within the Tools and Automation team. The position starts in May/June, paid working 40 hours per week through August. Opportunity exists for this position to continue through the academic year on a part-time basis to allow for class schedules.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Contribute to projects within the Tools and Automation team

    • Developing automation pipelines using various tools and languages

    • Leveraging APIs to integrate with management and monitoring tools

    • Collaborating with the various team's engineers on large scale, business imperative projects and initiatives to optimize the storage and data protection environment.

    • Specific tasks will be tailored to the interns experience level and abilities

    Skills, and Ability:

    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team

    • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve

    • Desire to contribute and improve design of new and existing solutions

    • Exceptional customer focus

    • Desire to teach other engineers about technology in area of expertise

    • Familiarity with Python (preferred), or Go

    Qualifications:

    • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an accredited Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a related engineering, science or life science field

    • PREFERRED MAJORS: Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or other related major

    • Strong desire and motivation to develop a career in IT

    • Strong leadership and team building skills

    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team

    • Ability to learn, be mentored, and improve

    • Desire to teach other engineers about technology in area of expertise

    • Previous industrial experience is preferred

    • Aptitude for working with hands and having experience using hand-tools may be beneficial

    • Accuracy and attention to detail is required in performing all functions of this position.

    • Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.

    • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status
