    SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP

    The Project Management job family forms part of the Project Management track within the IT function. Members of this family lead work teams, consisting of colleagues from a wide variety of functions inside and outside of IT, and assume responsibility for project initiatives. As project management professionals, incumbents contribute to the achievement of business objectives by ensuring that customer solutions are delivered on time, on budget, to the agreed upon specification, and to the customer’s overall satisfaction. THE POSITION STARTS IN JUNE, PAID WORKING 40 HOURS PER WEEK THROUGH AUGUST. Opportunity exists for this position to continue through the academic year on a part-time basis to allow for class schedules.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • All Project Manager coordinates activity for projects. Incumbents act as a liaison to the end customer and various stakeholders to communicate project activities. As the main customer contact, they support day to day delivery and direction on projects, setting and controlling customer expectations and maintaining the overall customer relationship. Under the direction of a more senior project manager, incumbents co-manage the functional and technical track leads of the project and project priorities.
    • They communicate regularly with internal and external customers, as appropriate, to ensure the delivery of high-quality service and support.
    • Project Manager has emerging project management skills. They provide day to day support on one or more small projects. Incumbents develop and maintain fully integrated project plans which specify project goals, deliverables, staffing, scheduling, risk assessment, contingency planning, resource allocation and cost analysis. They are responsible for monitoring and reporting to management on the status of project efforts and possibly accountable for controlling project plans and costs.
    • They primarily coordinate project-related tasks with internal and external customers and ensure proper implementation and completion of projects.
  • Qualifications
    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technical or Project Management related discipline, or equivalent work experience
    • Previous Internship Experience
