    You will have the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective at our High Point, NC Softgel site. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the Soft Gel Industry. When you join our internship program you should not be surprised to see that our environment is one that is innovative and team oriented. Students can expect to be challenged by their summer project plan, connect with other interns, and feel valued by the Thermo Fisher community. Not only will interns learn about their day-to-day tasks through their specific work assignments, but they will interact and have exposure to our organizational leaders and their teams.

    What will you do?

    • Perform lab experiments in the formulation lab. Experiments may consist of caustic chemicals.
    • Preparing and reviewing protocols, reports, SOP’s etc and other documentation
    • Analyzing data to ascertain if it meets related protocol acceptance criteria; writing deviation reports as required upon failures to meet protocol acceptance criteria
    • Writing risk assessments
    • Active collaboration between technical support team, engineering analytical and R&D groups to ensure successful new product introductions and technical transfer activities
    • General understanding of Analytical instrumentation.
    • General understanding of good Lab Practices.
    • Writing, reviewing, approving of technical protocols; assuring that protocols are approved through proper channels
    • Assuring that all test data is gathered and recorded in accordance with cGMP requirements

    How will you get here? Education The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college/university and has successfully completed his/her freshmen year and pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related technical field with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Experience

    • Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus programs and/or community service activities are desired

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point, and have strong oral and written communication skills
    • A high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks
    • Be comfortable working independently, as well as on a team
