    Job Description

    Position Summary:

    Phase 1 of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Bio-Flex Apprenticeship Program. Student candidates will complete a 3-month program focused on providing exposure to bio-technology and developing basic operations skills / experiences. Successful pre-apprentice candidates will be invited to participate in one of two Operations apprentice programs, depending on personal interest and college education experience / completion and business opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Practice practical knowledge of PPI Business System/LEAN concepts including continuous improvement with supervision.
    • Dispensing of Molecular and Antibody reagents.
    • Printing labels for bottles, vials, and boxes.
    • Capping vials.
    • Packaging finish good product lines.
    • Operate equipment used in manufacturing, filling, and packaging processes.
    • Assist with production tasks on different product lines as needed.
    • Read, follow, and update written procedures as needed.
    • Assist with storage and monitoring of inventories, products as well as in-house supplies.
    • Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, cycle counting, computer transactions, labeling operations and sorting.
    • Always Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Accountability:

    • Must maintain work schedule as assigned, including completion of specific tasks in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
    • Must follow oral and written instructions.
    • All personnel are expected to notify their immediate supervisor of any unsafe conditions and/or practices and to take appropriate corrective action.
    • Must demonstrate reliability and responsibility towards work.
    • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive laboratory and business data.
    • Ensure that safe laboratory procedures and protocols are always followed, especially in the application of universal precautions in handling of all blood and blood products.
    • Ensure all processes and teams are in adherence of cGMP and GDP.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate, site, and regulatory policies, practices, and guidelines.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Currently enrolled college student with 2+ years of college education in Engineering or Science fields.
    • Basic knowledge of computer MSOffice skills.
    • Read, and understand written laboratory procedures.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
