Corporations, foundations, governments and civil society organizations partner with ICRW to discover through rigorous research how to dismantle barriers and help women and girls achieve their full potential. ICRWs focus areas include adolescent girls, agriculture and food security, economic empowerment, HIV and AIDS, population and reproductive health, gender-based and intimate partner violence. At ICRW, we believe that research can and should be a process of social development, and employ participatory methods whenever appropriate. Further, ICRW pursues intersectional research to the greatest extent possible when resources allow. All research we undertake serves to advance ICRWs mission of improving the status of women and girls, promoting gender equality and eradicating poverty. Overview: This is a 3-month unpaid internship, starting immediately, working with the Violence, Rights and Inclusion (VRI) portfolio at the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW). The intern will build knowledge about gender-based violence (GBV) and other topics the VRI portfolio focuses on such as male engagement in prevention of violence against women and girls and child marriage. She/he will gain increased understanding of academic and programmatic research evidence on these issues. The intern will be encouraged to join team meetings, attend events and contribute to projects that align with her/his interests. Responsibilities: * Support data analysis and the production of research products for projects on technology-facilitated GBV, social and economic costs of violence against women and girls, and girl-centered advocacy * Conduct literature reviews on topics relevant to the VRI team and support the creation of dissemination products * Assist with planning and executing events * Participate in meetings and discussions with VRI portfolio members as needed * Provide support for other assignments with the VRI portfolio as needed Time Commitment: * 15-20 hours per week for a period of three months Interested parties should submit CV, cover letter, and two-page writing sample in English by March 23, 2018.
