    Arapahoe Community College was established in 1965 as the first two-year college in the greater Denver area.     ACC offers an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree (AAS/ADN) and Bachelor in Science in Nursing Completion Program (RN-BSN). This program is nationally approved by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN), the Colorado State Board of Nursing and the Colorado Community College System (CCCS).

     

    JOB SUMMARY:

     

    The Nursing Director is responsible for overall administration, supervision, evaluation and coordination of the Nursing Program. This includes budget preparation and evaluation, faculty evaluation, curriculum development, schedule planning, student recruitment, record keeping, formulation of department procedures, and evaluation of program effectiveness. The Director works collaboratively with Allied Health Program departments within the Health and Public Services School, and with internal and external stakeholders at Arapahoe Community College and Colorado Community College System. The Director is responsible for ensuring program compliance with CCCS, ACEN and the Colorado State Board of Nursing.

     

    Every ACC faculty and staff member is expected to participate in the assessment process of the College, utilizing the results of assessment for continuous institutional improvement.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s Degree in Nursing AND Doctorate in a related profession, from an accredited institution.
    • Possess a current, unencumbered Colorado RN license.
    • Two (2) years full-time teaching experience or equivalent.
    • Two (2) years full-time experience (or equivalent) in teaching nursing theory and clinical in an approved nursing education program, at or above the RN-BSN level.
    • Two (2) years supervisory experience.
    • Two (2) years clinical nursing experience.
    • Must be eligible to obtain a Career and Technical Educational Teaching Credential.
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, computer, projector and other office and classroom equipment.
    • Experience with online teaching and LMS management.
    • Evidence of leadership, management, and organizational skills.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Doctorate in Nursing (DNP or PhD), from an accredited institution.
    • Understanding of adult learning theory concepts; ability to utilize these principles effectively in the learning environment.
    • Experience with curriculum development and evaluation.
    • Working knowledge of rules and regulations for professional educational programs in nursing.
    • Teaching and/or administrative experience in a professional nursing program.
    • Experience teaching effectively at the Nursing-Associate and Baccalaureate Degree level.
    • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of nursing practices, health care trends and reform issues.
    • Experience with national nursing accreditation.
    • Previous nursing supervisory experience.
    • Experience working with a diverse workforce.
    • Understanding of ACC’s mission, vision, values and learning outcomes.

     

    ADVERTISED SALARY RANGE:  Salary range for this position is $85,500.00 to $90,000.00 annually, commensurate within this range based on education and experience. This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position.
