    Lighthouse Lab Services has partnered with a premier adhesive manufacture who is looking for a Quality Control Technician (temp to perm) who can help take their team to the next level.

    What We are Offering

    -$20-$23/hr DOE

    -Health, Vision, Dental

    -13 week contract with option to extend or convert to permanent employee

    Summary

    Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional duties may be assigned and/or changed at any time with or without notice.

     

    Product Testing

    Testing of viscosity, pH, density, solids etc., as directed by batch sheet

    Additions of water and biocides to correct the batch if necessary

    Prepare and review product SPC charts on viscosity, pH, solids and density

    Conduct product aging surveys. Check quality of fill line samples every month for one year, report and notify R&D with any failures.

    Inspect and test return goods.

    Rework obsolete and rejected product into product batches.

    Test equipment calibrations

    Assist R&D chemist with projects (i.e. making small batches, testing lab batches and help with application work of projects)

    Quality Assurance:

    Sign off on labels on fill sheet. Record viscosity and temperature of fill line sample in log book and on fill sheet.

    Daily fill line audits - check product weights, check containers and packaging of products as it comes offline before and after being packaged. Inform Production Manager or floor lead of any issues.

    Raw Material Testing

    Test bulk delivery samples used for manufacture of products

    Maintain process for off-loading accuracy

    Maintain C of A files for raw materials

    Inspect incoming packaging materials

    Wash water recycling

    Assist R&D chemist with screening new raw materials or raw material replacements for new products or existing formulation

    Biological Testing

    Screen raw materials for bacteria and mold levels.

    Line sample sterility/challenge testing

    Plant sanitation: Swab tests, water testing, air surveys

    Screen return goods for spoilage

    Plate all fill line samples daily.

    Recording Keeping

    Issue batch sheets daily

    CMS data entry

    Maintain SDS / GHS

    Maintain fill line lot number log

    Maintain batch records, paper and electronic

    Maintain mixer and line samples

    Update batch sheets

    Go over chart recorder every morning, inform R&D and Plant Manager if there is an abnormal reading.

    Housekeeping

    Maintain a clean and sanitary work area

    Order supplies

    Notify R & D if equipment needs repair or replacement

    Sanitation checklist and perform inspection weekly of production area.

    Maintain and update housekeeping SOP’s.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities

    Provides safety instructions and training on raw materials

Individual must be able to work around moving machines in production and mixers in batching, handling and testing of hazardous chemicals.     Education and/or Experience

    High School degree required with 1 - 2 years college credits preferred; or three years of related experience and/or training in a quality control function in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the field of quality control.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software and Microsoft Office

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and moving mechanical equipment. The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate.
