    Lighthouse Lab Services seeks a Revenue Cycle Management Billing Manager for a flourishing clinical toxicology specialty lab located in Dundalk, MD in the Baltimore metro area. The lab focuses on supporting the treatment of substance use disorder with proprietary analytics. This role is a critical component to their patient care and lab success.

    The Ideal Candidate: The lab seeks a detail-oriented and highly organized Revenue Cycle Management Billing Manager to join their growth-oriented, clinical laboratory. This candidate will manage and oversee both internal RCM staff and outside billing services. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for healthcare services, optimizing revenue collection, and maintaining compliance with billing regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and make a meaningful impact on our financial operations.

    Responsibilities and Knowledge includes but not limited to:

    • Patient Registration and Insurance Verification:
      • Accurately register patients into the billing system.
      • Verify patient insurance information, including coverage, copayments, and deductibles.
    • Claim Preparation and Submission:
      • Prepare and submit insurance claims based on services provided.
      • Ensure timely submission and adherence to billing guidelines.
    • Denial Management and Follow-Up:
      • Investigate and address denied or partially paid claims.
      • Resubmit or appeal claims as needed.
    • Patient Billing:
      • Generate and send bills to patients for uncovered expenses.
      • Assist patients in understanding bills and setting up payment arrangements when necessary.
    • Payment Posting:
      • Accurately record payments received from insurance companies and patients in the accounting system.
    • Accounts Receivable Management:
      • Monitor outstanding claims and unpaid patient bills.
      • Follow up with insurance companies and patients to secure payments.
    • Credentialing, Compliance and Regulations:
      • Ensure compliance with payer contracts
      • Stay informed about healthcare billing regulations, coding updates, and insurance policies.
      • Ensure compliance in all billing practices.
    • Reporting:
      • Generate weekly reports on billing and collections metrics.
      • Work with leadership to identify areas for improvement.
    • Customer Service:
      • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with patients and insurance companies, addressing inquiries and resolving billing issues.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
    • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is a plus.
    • Proven experience in healthcare billing and revenue cycle management, particularly clinical toxicology.
    • Strong understanding of healthcare billing regulations and compliance.
    • Exceptional technical proficiency. Ability to use spreadsheets and pivot tables for ad hoc analytics.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
