Lighthouse Lab Services is representing a well-established hospital lab that is part of a larger hospital system that is looking for a Rapid Response Technologist to join their team in Queens! Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:  

-Performs various Laboratory testing on blood, urine, blood fluids
-Ensures operation of analyzers and other instruments by calibrating; performing preventative maintenance following manufacturer's Instructions; and troubleshooting instrument Issues.
-Adherence to all Laboratory and Hospital policies and procedures
-Organizes workflow to facilitate completion of assigned tasks
-Responds to STAT and routine requests within the expected turnaround time.
-Follows all NYS DOH, College of American Pathologists, JC and CMS guidelines
-Maintains a safe and clean working environment by following all infection control policies, biosafety plan, and hazardous waste policies.
-Aids in training of new employees, students and co-workers
-Participates In Laboratory in-service and continuing education as well as mandatory hospital in services and training.
-Demonstrates knowledge in the use of Laboratory Information System
-Provides information to medical providers by answering questions and requests.
-Promotes a positive work image through productive and professional interaction with patients and other hospital personnel.
-Performs other functions as needed in the event of shortage of personnel.  

Basic Preferred Profile:

-BS in Medical Technology, Laboratory Science, or related.

-NYS Licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Required.

-3+ Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience Required.

-Previous Experience in Clinical Chemistry

-Previous Experience as a Rapid Response Technologist Preferred but not required.
