Lighthouse Lab Services is working with an independent reference laboratory located in Miami, FL. This lab is in search of a Microbiology Lab Manager to join their high complexity testing team.
This is a Monday- Friday day shift position that is responsible for overseeing the testing personnel, managing the budget, scheduling, inventory, etc.
Position Overview:
• Manage laboratory and processes to ensure day-to-day operations follow internal standard operating procedures and regulatory standards of CLIA and CAP.
• Support monthly financial reporting, budget preparation and ensuring the laboratory is on target to meet performance and operational goals
• Assists Director in budget process through resource identification and service needs, evaluating and providing analysis for new projects and strategic initiatives. Identifies necessary capital budget items for Laboratory.
• Manage laboratory personnel by preparing schedules, providing guidance and direction.
• Maintain flexibility to cover scheduling gaps as needed.
• Maintain strict CLIA Compliance
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and others as needed to resolve issues, maintain ongoing functionality, and document service, project management and repair work.
• Supervise all testing performance, corrective actions, and process improvement
• Perform or delegate instrument validation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Develop SOPs
• Maintain QA/QC records and programs
• Oversee laboratory and accessioning personnel performance, training, and competency
• Other duties, as assigned.
Candidate Profile:
• B.S. (or higher) in Biology, Medical Technology, or related field
• 7+ years of Clinical Laboratory Experience in a High-Complexity Clinical Lab?, 4 of which must be in a full hospital or reference laboratory.
• Prior Supervisor experience is required.
• Preferred experience in Microbiology
