    Lighthouse Lab Services is currently seeking a Metrology Specialist to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC. This a Monday-Friday, DAY shift position. 

    Pay: $24-$28/hr

    Position Summary
    The Metrology Specialist creates materials that our client labs use to test their patient samples, saving both the company and our clients money. The incumbent calibrates, tests, and analyzes material performance. They ensure that the evaluated material meets requirements for precision, performance, and accuracy.

    The incumbent is expected to continuously improve on laboratory skills as well as professional presence to effectively serve and interact with clients and other teams directly. The incumbent is expected to actively seek and take advantage of opportunities to learn new skills and acquire expertise on relevant scientific, technological, and industry trends.

    Essential Functions & Basic Duties

    1. Create LCMS Validation materials (Sample Comparison, Matrix Effects. Interference Study)
    2. Create Stocks, Calibrators, and QC used on the LCMS.
    3. Create Internal Standards
    4. Create Specialty/Custom recipes and mixes (Cal, QC, ISTD, and Stocks) for clients.
    5. Manufacture validation materials and controls for Molecular and Infectious Disease panels.
    6. Maintain Quality documents for the laboratory.
    7. Run lot to lot verification on new lots of reagents.
    8. Create COA for each lot of controls.
    9. Create Custom ALT PT samples.
    10. Equipment maintenance and calibration.
    11. Extract RNA/DNA using automated methods.
    12. Order supplies for the laboratory, handle all shipments of standards from the lab.
    13. Collaborate with the Quality and DA/DR teams to ensure standards are passing.
    14. Lot tracking of stock materials.
    15. Ordering and keeping record of standards and assays materials.
    16. Updating internal recipes, COAs, Product Inserts.
    17. Filing recipes, quality documents, packing slips, COAs of standards and assay materials.
    18. Shipping of all Standards and Assays.
    19. Participate in the instruction and training of others.
    20. Demonstrates independent judgement to resolve issues and escalates issues appropriately.
    21. Actively contributes to effective problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts.
    22. Supports the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives from superiors to enhance laboratory workflow.


    Minimum Qualification Requirements
    Education
    Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Laboratory Sciences or other closely related scientific discipline.

    Experience
    Minimum of 1 year experience within metrology.

    Certificate(s) and/or License(s)

    1. Medical Technologist Certification preferred.
