    Job Description

     

    LUX RESEARCH is seeking an energetic, detail oriented, thorough and friendly accounting professional with 1-2 years of professional experience to join our Finance team as a Staff Accountant.  This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will have hands on experience with revenue recognition and contract management.

    DESCRIPTION:

    The Staff Accountant responsibilities will focus on accounts receivable, revenue recognition and assisting with the month-end close. You will act as a liaison to employees in reconciling expense reports and complying with company T&E policies. In this role, you will also be involved with payroll-related processes. Additionally, you will support the sales team with contract management.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Own the accounts receivable process (contract management, invoice generation, payment applications, collection work with clients)
    • Responsible for recording sales orders and reconciling revenue monthly
    • Assist in the monthly close process, including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual estimates and calculations
    • Review employee expense reports for proper backup and appropriate use of account codes and approvals
    • Maintain fixed/intangible assets and associated depreciation/amortization schedules
    • Adhere to GAAP and any new accounting pronouncements, including ASC 606, and maintain company compliance
    • Proactively seek ways to continuously improve processes and practices that will result in greater efficiencies and better controls
    • Assist with related accounting projects as required

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
    • 1-2 years prior accounting/revenue recognition experience
    • NetSuite and Salesforce experience a plus
    • Strong oral and written communications skills
    • High degree of organization and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and multi-task
    • Ability to handle sensitive materials, confidential documents and conversations
    • Team player who effectively communicates with all levels of staff and management

    We are seeking candidates immediately available to work full-time in Boston. We do not offer work visa sponsorship for this role.  Candidates must be able to work in the US without restriction.
