    The Marketing and Social Media Manager executes social media strategy to create and maintain a cohesive online presence across all digital platforms. Works closely with colleagues within Development and across the organization to create new and update existing marketing collateral including donor publications, e-blasts, and other internal/external marketing and communications material. Manages and updates invitations, programs, and BGCB materials to ensure materials align with BGCB brand and remain on schedule and within budget. Collaborates with Development team on event programs, incorporating key messaging for fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events. Helps to manage www.bgcb.org; including timely written content and visual updates, as well as tracking for strategic planning. Provides exemplary proofreading and editing support for all printed and electronic communications to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high quality.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Together with BGCB’s leadership, develop an overarching messaging strategy for the Development and Marketing department, leadership volunteers, and program staff engaged in internal and external marketing and communications.

    • Creates and manages BGCB’s social media strategy. Builds on and supports the institutional image and presence in the community and all fundraising efforts.

    • Manages integrated messaging and BGCB’s identity on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms. Creates, manages, executes, and analyzes BGCB’s social media strategy and messaging through formal reporting and analytics.

    • Manages updates, design, and production of invitations and programs for BGCB events including but not limited to the Annual Meeting, President’s Circle Dinner, House Party preview and all Artemis Circle, Champion Society and Friends Council events.

    • Works in close collaboration with the Development Department and Events Team on the production of invitation packages for the Annual Dinner and House Party.

    • Designs other ad hoc printed materials including Club brochures and event materials.

    • Manages the creation of all online donation forms.

    • Manages the design and distribution of other emails from BGCB.

    • Act as key point of contact for BGCB’s Communication Ambassadors Program. In doing so, this position facilitates relationships with 11 Club liaisons to gather content, including photos and blog posts, provide marketing and communications support, and advise Clubs on BGCB marketing standards and procedures.

    • Works alongside colleagues and with internal stakeholders to conceptualize, write, edit, and support production of BGCB’s annual report, backgrounders/brochures, and other collateral/publications as required, including the incorporation of member and donor stories into print and online communications.

    • With agency leadership, develop strategic communications plans and content calendars for BGCB, addresses critical issues that inspire our current and potential donors, partners and stakeholders and highlight the impact BGCB has on our members, their families, and the community.

    • Manage and cultivate a comprehensive suite of tools that reflect BGCB’s messaging strategy and are designed to meet the specific needs of BGCB’s varied audiences. These tools include existing and emerging technology.

    • Generates content, identifies audiences, and ensures the timely and appropriate distribution of messaging across all available platforms.

    • Helps to manage www.bgcb.org including all content and visual updates.

    • Works closely with operations and fundraising teams to recognize agency partners and sponsors.

    • Helps to manage the use of external resources as they pertain to the marketing and communications function of the organization.

    • Works closely with Development team on event programs, incorporating key messaging in fundraising, cultivation and stewardship events. Leverages BGCB’s premiere events to reinforce mission and key messaging strategy, expand awareness, and attract financial support.

    • Formulates and expresses a donor-based perspective on digital content (including web and social media) to ensure it continually reflects BGCB’s activities to serve supporters and positions the organization as one that is worthy of donor support; likewise formulates and expresses a donor-based perspective on the integration of print and digital content to ensure broad and leveraged exposure with various audiences of donors and prospective donors. In support of the fundraising staff, coordinates the continuous acquisition of prospects at all levels of giving.

    • Provides support for fundraising events including scouting and coaching Club Member speakers.

    • Implements marketing standards and protocols, including brand guidelines and messaging.

    • Provides proofreading and editing support for all printed and electronic communications to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality.

    • Participates in media relations efforts, including identifying Club and program stories, drafting and updating press releases, fact sheets, and media advisories as assigned, updating and refining media lists, emailing media advisories, supervising Club media visits, and conducting follow-up

    • Manages organization’s photo and digital archive.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • BA/BS in Marketing, Communications or related subject
    • Five years or equivalent of full-time professional experience as a generalist in Marketing, event support experience preferred
    • Excellent writing and editing skills in all media platforms
    • Exceptional project management skills
    • Clear, persuasive writing style
    • Exceptional interpersonal communications skills with the ability to work with all BGCB constituencies including Board members, leadership, Club staff members, families and youth.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to follow through on assignments and meet deadlines, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
    • Flexibility and confident ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Proven ability to work within an organization emphasizing teamwork and excellence as well as successfully working individually
    • Must have a passion for BGCB’s mission
    • A good sense of humor is paramount
    • Graphic design experience and proficiency with technology required, including MS Office, Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, PhotoShop), MailChimp, and Wordpress. Familiarity with databases, especially Blackbaud and Raiser’s Edge, a plus
    • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as event and project deadlines dictate
    • Valid driver’s license required, ability to visit BGCB locations as needed (either via public transportation or ZipCar)
