Transportation Engineering Intern/Co-Op | Summer 2020
Calvin University is seeking a part time Operations Coordinator for the Calvin Theater Company. This position manages all business aspects of the Calvin Theater Company including contracts and licenses, financial matters (budgets, expenditures, student wages), publicity, and schedules. The position also coordinates theatrical offerings with other arts offerings across campus.
SCHEDULE: part time, about 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise technical director and costume stitcher, including completing annual PDPs; Supervises CTC students, both student workers and student CTC committee members.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
This position requires a Bachelors degree with three-to-fiveyears of experience managing budgets, contracts, and schedules; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires knowledge of theater and theatrical performances. Strong organization, written and verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills required. Knowledge of basic financial software required (e.g. Word, Excel, website software, Google Docs). Supervisory experience and experience in nonprofit arts administration is helpful.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training preferred.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
Certificates and Licenses:
A valid driver’s license from the state that the employee resides as well as a clean driving record. Must be accessible to appropriate and reliable transportation to perform essential duties and responsibilities. CPR Certification encouraged but not mandatory.
