Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- At least six months of experience in a related position and environment preferred.
- Experience with a variety of machinery, vehicles, material handling equipment, hand and power tools preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must have a have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions).
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Must have ability to quickly learn how to safely operate specialized machinery for care of roads, grounds, galleries, structures and facilities.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Employee Orientation, Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Training.
- Training in use of specialized machinery for care of roads, grounds, galleries, structures and facilities.
- Forklift or material handling certification if required by site.
- May perform more advanced functions as part of training and development.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Amount of time spent – Bending 60%, Walking 25%, standing 10% and sitting 5%.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Body movements require working with arms extended above and below head and from body up to 40 minutes, while using hand tools weighing up to 15 pounds.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds in standing and bending positions and carry while walking distances of 10 feet.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision (for driving) and ability to adjust focus.
Additional Information
Pay Range: $28.39 to $37.58 per hour.
