    JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

    This Manufacturing intern will be part of a cohesive team responsible for operational readiness in all phases of manufacturing at the new Brammer Bio Lexington facility located in Lexington MA. The intern will work closely with process engineering, supply chain and manufacturing groups to commission/shakedown new equipment, create manufacturing procedures, streamline manufacturing processes and design single use process equipment. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to be part of the operational readiness of a new gene therapy facility.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    PERCENTAGE OF TIME SPENT

    1)75%

    Assists with the execution of manufacturing and engineering projects, such as:

    • Commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of the new process equipment; drawing generation/verification, system walkdowns, etc.
    • Generation of equipment/process flow diagrams
    • Design and write new manufacturing procedures
    • Execution of studies and generation/management of data and technical reports associated with process equipment
    • Assist engineering department with administration equipment/engineering turnover packages
    • Administration of technical drawings associated with single-use process equipment

    2)10%

    • Ensures adequate training (skills-based, cGMP and Safety) is kept up-to-date.
    1. 15%
    • Miscellaneous tasks as necessary.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Interact with the site manufacturing, supply chain, facilities and process engineering teams
    • Collect information required for execution of assigned projects
    • Provides frequent overall feedback to management
    • Provides effective written or verbal communication to peers, manufacturing staff, and area management within their operational group.
  • Qualifications
    • Enrolled in a university studying an engineering or science disciplines such as Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Biochemistry
    • Knowledge of biologic manufacturing, vector manufacturing, fill finish, or label and pack processes
    • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; written and oral.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/FACTORS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

    • Needs Ability to aseptically gown and/or sterile gown as needed
    • Ability to work within environmental clean rooms
    • Ability to function in a dynamic environment and balance multiple priorities simultaneously
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to write, read/review written documentation for extended periods of time. Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and stand for extended periods. The employee is occasionally required to be active.
