We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. You will focus on learning how our organization runs and can be expected to gain valuable insight that can further your interest in your chosen career field.

    Summary of Internship

    The Mechanical Engineering intern will be responsible for aiding the team in development of new Controlled Temperature Technology products. The scope will depend on the specific phase of the project but will include design and testing of specific features from concept to prototype and possibly production to facilitate meeting product requirements. Potential areas of focus and responsibility could be mechanical, or refrigeration system based.

    A typical day will consist of mixed activities including:

    • Modeling of potential design solution to the problem. This may be CAD or mathematical modeling such as strength calculations or similar.
    • Attending design team meeting and summarizing and sharing your work.
    • Building and testing prototypes in our Technology Center lab or test rooms.
    • Developing design options and choosing solutions to issues that arise during product development.
    • Finding and documenting potential issues with the designs that arise during prototype builds or product testing.
  • Qualifications
    • Current student in an accredited bachelor’s degree program
    • Major in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering preferred
    • Basic Knowledge of mechanical design and control systems are required.
    • Some exposure to CAD is desired.
    • Some engineering modeling (Ansys, Solidworks Simulation) is a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Creative self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
