    LOCATION/DIVISION SPECIFIC INFORMATION

    We are searching for Engineering Intern to join our design team in San Jose, California where we develop novel mass spectrometers and associated products. You will collaborate with a broad team of engineers and scientists researching new technologies and bringing them to market.     HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

    Our team supports the site's Research and Development group. As part of multi-functional teams, you will learn about the design, material selection, and proto-typing of systems and sub-systems destined for general lab equipment and medical device designation.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to create components, assemblies, and processes used by the scientific instruments industry.

    • Apply these efforts to support a new product development.

    HOW YOU WILL GET HERE:

    EDUCATION

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited, undergraduate mechanical engineering program or a closely related field.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Previous work or internship experience preferred but not required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

    • Analytical and quantitative skills.

    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication. Able to work collaboratively to accomplish objectives.

    • Critical thinking skills: able to approach problems in a disciplined fashion.

    • Use of 3-D solid-modeling tools. Direct experience with SolidWorks preferred.

    • Application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in the design process.
