    Compensation Data

    This position offers a $8,000 sign-on bonus.

    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist 1 (MLT/MT/MLS) for our Weekend Shift Clinical PathologyTeam located in Mattawan, MI.

    A MedicalTechnologist (MLT/MT/MLS) isresponsible for performing sample analyses and administrative duties, required by protocols andStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs), on biological specimens from all species to producesound, reliable data. The individual in this role may serve as a mentor for less-experiencedpersonnel, provide backup for troubleshooting instruments, and uses good communication andinterpersonal skills in a collaborative team environment.

    The pay range for this position is $25 - 28/hr. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

    Job Qualifications

    • Certification preferred as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with 1 or more years of relevant clinical laboratory experience.
    • Associate or bachelor's degree in medical technology required.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn and perform clinical laboratory procedures, both manually and using instrumentation.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical laboratory science.
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
    • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system.
    • Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice.
    • Ability to work under specific time constraints.

    Physical Requirements

    The functions of this role require to be able to physically:

    • lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds frequently
    • stand for extended periods of time
    • walk long distances across the facility
    • remain seated for extended periods of time
    • utilize meticulous fine-motor skills

    Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.
