Shift: Evening Shift | Four 10-hour shifts per week | Some weekends (rotating)

Compensation: $28-$35/hour

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join our Transfusion team. This role is critical to delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality laboratory results that support patient care and clinical decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in transfusion and a passion for collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities - The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs:
Routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems.
Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods.
Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies.
Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems.
Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required, OR
Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field required with certification/licensure obtained within 6 months of hire, OR
Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with preferred experience.
Licensure:
Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory performing moderate to high complexity testing preferred.
