We are seeking a summer intern to work in our Vaccine Development department at Novavax. This position would offer the opportunity to work on diverse projects aimed to further characterize novel attributes of our vaccines. This position reports directly to the Scientist II. The candidate may work on one or more of the following, but not restricted to: Designing and cloning plasmids for recombinant protein expression Protein expression optimization in tissue culture Protein purification by FPLC SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis Participating in general laboratory support activities, such as reagent preparation and autoclaving Duration : June through August 2018 Minimum requirements: Current junior, senior, or recent undergraduate student in a related science program (e.g. biochemistry, biomedical engineering, molecular biology, chemistry, biology) The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Detail oriented and self-motivated Previous laboratory experience in molecular biology, tissue culture, and/or protein purification is preferred Novavax, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company committed to delivering novel products to prevent a broad range of infectious diseases.
