    JOB TITLE: CO-OP, OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

    Reports to: David Ledoux, Sr. Manager, Operational Excellence

    Thermo Fisher Scientific - Viral Vector Services (VVS) is a rapidly growing, dynamic gene therapy contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that is seeking sharp individuals to bring the highest quality processes, products and testing to our clients.     HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

    The Operational Excellence Co-op will assist in problem solving and performance improvement initiatives by utilizing the Lean / PPI Business System tool set.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • Partnering with a cross-functional team to successfully follow the PPI 8 step process to develop and implement solutions
    • Conducts Gemba Walks to identify process improvement opportunities.
    • Participate in Kaizens and Projects.
    • Coach the teams in Daily Tiered Management.
    • Train associates in PPI tools and concepts.
    • Build and mantiain PPI tools and databases to help quantify improvement impact
    • Promote the transformation of a reactive organizational culture to one that is more proactive, utilizing data driven decision-making, and giving priority to preventative actions.
  • Qualifications

    HOW WILL YOU GET HERE?

    • Persuing BSc/BA in a engineering discipline such as Industrial, chemical, biochemical, etc.
    • Understanding and interest in PPI, 6 Sigma, Lean, OEE, and/or other continuous improvement methodologies.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

    • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with a focus on coaching and influencing others.
    • Proficient computer skills with a desired knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheet and Visio.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Fluency in English.
