How will you make an impact?

As a member of the Carlsbad Operations organization, the Operations Intern (Co-Op) will be an integral member of the team responsible for the data analysis and improvement projects related to manufacturing processes and documents.

To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.

What will you do?

This position is a one-year (June 2023 - June 2024) dedication and is part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific/UC San Diego Co-Op Program. By applying you are confirming that you will be available to work full-time during summer and consistently part-time throughout the academic year. • Streamlines new and existing documents in manufacturing

• Implements standardization with new and existing document structure and flow

• Integrates automation in manufacturing batch record that promotes error proofing and calculation simplification

• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education

Candidate must be enrolled in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Science or other related field.

The preferred candidate will ideally have experience in a variety of areas to support the business objectives:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products with emphasis on Excel, Outlook and Word

• Strong laboratory & mathematical skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Phenomenal teammate (demonstrated experience working in support of a successful project team)

• Good interpersonal skills
