    Job Description

    Position Purpose:

    Coordinates the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a permanent household hazardous waste collection facility. Receives, sorts, analyses, samples, labels, manifests, packages, and disposes of material in compliance with company policies and procedures.

    Primary Duties /Responsibilities:

    • Complies with and enforces all applicable governmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
    • Receives, sorts, analyses, samples, labels, manifests, packages, and routes material to appropriate site.
    • Ensures appropriate actions for the timely recycling/disposal of material.
    • Determines appropriate disposal capabilities and limitations to ensure efficient and effective, and compliant recycling/disposal.
    • Conducts periodic on-site audits of activity to ensure compliance with state and federal hazardous waste disposal criteria.
    • Maintains all equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness for completing projects.
    • Determine chemical composition of material including hazardous elements contained.
    • Accurately completes all VESTS/DOT/EPA paperwork.
    • Recognizes and acts on opportunities to increase value-added services to customers.
    • Acts in a professional manner at all times. Maintains courteous communications with internal and external customers.
    • Attends and successfully completes all required training (VESTS, OSHA, etc.).
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education / Experience / Background:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or Chemistry
    • 1 year related hazardous waste experience

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    • Knowledge and understanding of contract provisions and terms
    • Knowledge of local, state and federal hazardous waste disposal rules and regulations
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Skilled in providing excellent customer service
    • Skilled in the proficient use of computers
    • Ability to conduct scientific testing of chemicals in compliance with state and federal regulations
    • Ability to analyze and categorize materials
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects/deadlines
    • Ability to work well with others and be a strong team player
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

    • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Commercial Drivers License

    Additional Information

    Targeted Hourly Pay: $ 25

    Sick leave – 56 hours; Observed Holidays – 11 days; Vacation – 15 days

    Eligible for up to 4% Annual Performance Bonus
