Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High school or GED with the ability to read, write, and be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Three to Five years of experience in a related position in a similar environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment.
- Must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs.
- Must be able to inspect and diagnose process problems.
- Requires working knowledge of the methods, techniques, principles, and practices of wastewater treatment as acquired through three years of experience.
- Requires ability to diagnose problems within the scope of work with process and equipment knowledge.
- Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees and the willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Requires possession and maintenance of a current Grade IV wastewater operator's certification as issued by MA-DEP within 6 months from start date.
- Willingness and ability to obtain State of Massachusetts Forklift Certification and Hoisting Licenses.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks standing (25%) and walking (75%) for as many as two miles per shift.
- Works in various positions like climbing stairs, squatting, stooping, bending, kneeling, or working with hands extended above and below head and body for up to 40 minutes.
- May perform work on ladders, catwalks, and supports 50 feet above the ground.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds while walking distances of 10 feet.
Additional Information
Pay Range: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour.
