    Salary: Up to $115,000 depending on experience

    General Description:

    The Dean of Nursing and Health Programs is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Nursing and Health Programs department at Muskegon Community College. The Dean provides academic and administrative leadership for the department's faculty and staff, and is responsible for developing and implementing the department's strategic plan. The Dean also represents the department to the college community and to external stakeholders.

    Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    1. A minimum of a Graduate degree in Nursing.
    2. At least five years of experience in academic administration, likely including fiscal management and accreditation experience preferably in a community college setting.
    3. Excellent supervisory skills including: superb communication, team building, selecting, orienting, training, and developing personal growth opportunities..
    4. Demonstrated use of tact, judgement and discretion, and ability to relate to people of all ages, races, and social-economic backgrounds.
    5. Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
    6. Experience in managing budgets and resources.
    7. Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
    8. Teaching experience at the college level.
    9. Experience in representing a college or university to external stakeholders.
    10. Highly motivated and solution oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethics and dedication to the mission of the college.
    11. Demonstrated commitment to mentoring, developing and managing collaborative teams.
    12. Gifted in public speaking and representing the organization professionally and graciously in the community and on campus.
    13. Skill in implementing strategic plans, goals, and procedures for cost effective management of allocated resources.
    14. Demonstrated strengths in technology; Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, and use of social media, and managing data.
    15. A valid driver’s license with an approved driving record is required.

    2. Develop and implement the department's strategic plan.
    3. Oversee the development and delivery of the department's academic programs.
    4. Recruit, evaluate, and mentor faculty and staff.
    5. Manage the department's budget and resources.
    6. Represent the department to the college community and to external stakeholders.
    7. Ensure that the department's programs are accredited and meet all applicable regulatory requirements.
    8. Collaborate with other departments and programs within the college to develop and implement interdisciplinary programs and initiatives.
    9. Promote the department's programs and services to the community.
