Jr./Entry Level Project Analyst/Technical Editor - BA/Liberal Arts Graduate
Overview We are seeking a Jr./Entry Level Project Analyst/Technical Editor to support our Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) engineering customer. Your work will support editing and grammatical proofing of engineering technical documentation for our NAVSEA customer, in Herndon, VA. Responsibilities * Work with multiple engineering customers to plan technical documents for development and updates. * Format technical documents in MS Word templates. * Review technical documents in accordance with the respective requirements for format and content to ensure compliance. * Annotate in the technical document any areas of non-compliance and work with engineers to address. * Proofread and edit technical documents varying in size from 5 pages to 300 plus pages for grammar, consistency, and accuracy; use track changes to annotate recommended changes. * Look up all internal document references in respective document repositories and validate documents are active and not cancelled; annotate in the technical document those references with cancelled status and any replacement information for engineer validation. * Assist engineers with incorporating technical changes into documents and annotate changes on a List of Changes. * Coordinate document projects for various reviews with technical community. * Consolidate comments received from reviewers on a standard form and email to engineering customer for resolution. * Publish technical documents in respective publication repositories. * Maintain and update documentation files with all emails and deliverables for each phase of the project process. * Participate in Weekly Meetings with customer to present status of work. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * A Bachelor's Degree in a Liberal Arts area (English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Communications preferred); candidates with a STEM Degree will NOT be considered * 0 to 2 Minimum years' experience * A resume with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation in order to be considered * Experience with proofreading and editing * Experience in the following technologies: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat * This position will require you to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
